Girls who straighten their hair!?

I recently got a new haircut-note the avatar-and haven't owned a straightener before. I used to have side bangs so it looked fine with just blow drying, but this style doesn't work that way. I get all kinds of fly aways and it gets all frizzy and such. I have natural wave at the ends of my hair and that's basically all I need to straighten. Well my bangs too.

Anyways, I need a straightener. It must be under 50 dollars and I have to get it at Target-I'm not made of money. I can't afford the Chi and my hair doesn't call for that kind of straightener, just something more low key. What size should I get and brand? Please give me links from Target and reviews from ones you've used.

It is very important to get a straightner with ceramic rather than meal plates. I think i use a revlon strightner. If you get a strightner that is very wide you can strighten your hair faster but if you get a very thin one you can use it as a curling iron as well - it turns out very cute (wrap your hair around it at the top of your head and pull stright down so the hair sprials around the iron as you go down) so then you wont have to by two appliacnes. But no matter what strightner you get i think it is important to get heat protecting shampoos/conditoers/sprays. I would say go with a ceramic iron with various heat settings to adjust to your hair type - you should find one for around 20-30 dollars and spend the extra money on heat protecting anything. HAve fun!

Try Conair! It works great and its not expensive at all. You can get a smaller or bigger one, whichever fits ur hair type.

I don't have any links, but I use the Remington Wet to Straight. I got it from target and I think it was either 20 or 30 dollars. I use it everyday and I love it! It works really good and you can even dry your hair and straighten it at the same time.

get a revlon ceramic. its kinda big, but its does a great job! and its like 20 $$. so you can save 30 bucks.

This is the straightener i have. It works well and its low cost. %26amp; im pretty sure target has it too. They have the flat plates and then they have another straightener with curved plates, mine are curved, but it doesnt really matter. =D

get a conair one, like a one inch. great for bangs around 20 dollars. it gets realllllly hot and straightens very well. i use mine almost everyday.

Ceramic and Ionic are definitely the key in straightening. . . there really is a science to ionic technology but it is long and kinda boring to explain.

A one inch is great because you can get closer to the scalp. I have really long hair and I prefer to use a smaller iron because you get better results.

Also Andis has a good reputation in the styling business. They make some of the best clippers and trimmers in the business so it is a name I trust

it depends on if your hair is thinner or not...if it is thin, then i think you should get a smaller sized one.

dont get wet2straight ones...they suck ***...and they make your hair frizzyer..

and the ceramic are best for your hair, but are REALLY expensive.

so this is probably the best for you.

I bought the revlon stylix, it's red and white, ceramic.

It was 30 dollars at Walmart, I'm sure Target has it too.

do not get the wet2straight.

its a piece of crap, i own one.

%26amp; it straightens really badly.

and you should NOT use it on wet hair, or even damp. you hear a sizzling noise and it fries your hair.

and don't get a cheap conair, they are even worse.

i'm not sure what straightener you should get...you should look around and read reviews on them.

i'm buying the chi soon, though. saved up for one. haha.
