CHI flat iron. curls hair 0r urban myth?

i just bought a $170 CHI 1" flat iron. The reason i bought it was because it is fantastic, comes from a fantastic company, and is versatile. But is it versatile? i heard from a description of this specific model, that it can also curl your hair. but how can a flat iron, become a curl iron?please reply if you know how i can use my CHI flat iron as a curling iron, and please explain the steps..lol...thank you :)

while going down your hair (starting from the top) flip your hair outwards hard. keep doing that till you rech the end of your hair. it will curl

you like, straighten it then go to the end of your hair %26amp; just flip it as it was a curling iron. (w. the ends of ur hair between the plates)
